Ruairidh McGlynn (b. 1986) is a photographer whose work is often informed by his intrigue to explore new places, drawn to the relationship between mankind and nature. A relationship that is in constant flux, Ruairidh examine's how we exist within our surroundings by capturing the man altered landscape. Exploring ideas of time, place, identity and memory.
Ruairidh has a deep interest in places that are on the peripheries of society. Creating emotive work through strong compositions formed around figures and structures centred within vast and powerful landscapes. He is committed to highlighting the climate crisis, inspiring people to value the landscape and take action.
Ruairidh's work has been featured in publications such as PDN emerging Photographer, Condé Nast Traveller, Time magazine and Vogue Paris, and on contemporary photography platforms such as if you leave and iGNANT. His work has been exhibited in groups exhibitions in New York, Miami and in London.
Ruairidh is currently based in Scotland and when he's not at work, he can usually be found pursuing personal art projects or exploring the mountains.
